Biratnagar crowned T-20 Champion

On the final day of the Pepsi T-20 National League Cricket Tournament, Region No 1 Biratnagar team proved they are best team in this tournament as they clamied titled defeating Bhairahawa by 15 runs at Pulchowk Engineering Campus Cricket Ground, Lalitpur.

Batting first, Region No 1 Biratnagar manages to score respectable 132-7 in their alloted 20 overs. Opener Mehboob Alam blasted with 8 fours in his 53 balls 58 runs. Pushpa Thapa and Santosh Baral scord 17 and 15 runs repectively.Sunny Pun 8 runs and Ajya Rajbanshi 7 runs are other major contributor.
For Bhairahawa, Rahul Kumar BK grabbed 3 wickets in his 4 over spell. Antim Thapa, Bijay Thapa and Hemant Acharya shared 1 wicket each. In reply, Region No 4 Bhairahawa packed for 117 runs loss of 9 wickets. Skipper Antim Thapa stay solid till the Man of the Match Mehboob Alam run out him on 20 runs. Rahul Kumar BK and Durgesh Rajali scored 18 runs each. Faizal Khan, Rijan Prajoo and Subash Pradhan scored 12, 10 and 9 runs respectively. Mehboob Alam took 2 wickets. Manjeet Shrestha, Santosh Baral, Ajay Rajbanshi and Kundan Singha grabbed 1 wicket apiece.

Gyanendra Malla of Region No 3 Kathmandu declared Best Batsmen as he scored 135 runs in 5 matches. Malla manages the average of 68 runs. Binod Das of Region No 2 Birgunj adjudged the Best Bowler of tournament for his 13 wickets in 5 matches. Das manage every wicket conceeding 6.31 runs. Mehboob Alam of Region No 1 Biratnagar declared the Player of the Series as he scored 155 runs in 135 balls in his 6 matches and took 11 wickets. Prizes were given by Chief Guest Pitamber Timalsina (Vice President of National Sports Council), Binaya Raj Pandey (President of CAN), Upendra Prasad Bhattrai (Vice President of CAN), Tarak Dixit (Secretary of CAN), Naresh Shrestha (Member of CAN), Arun Satyal (Member of CAN), Shailesh Chaudhary (Member of CAN), Krishna Kaniaya (Member of CAN), Naresh Rana (Secretary of Region No. 3), Suranjan Deo (CEO of Pepsi), Diwakar Poudel (Head, Corporate Affairs Standard Chartered Bank), Durga Prasad Sangroula (Campus Chief, Pulchowk Engineering Campus).
