Nepal record second win

Nepal registered second consecutive win against DDCA U-25 beating it by five wickets in the third match played at Roshanara Club Ground, Delhi today.
Skipper Paras Khadka invited DDCA U-25 to bat first after winning the toss first time in this visit. DDCA U-25 started patiently but never got chance to accelerate the run rate as Nepali bowlers keeping pressure on DDCA batsmen bowling in good line and length. They made 123 runs in allotted 20 overs, whereas 118 runs came from batsmen and five runs as extra. Left arm spinner Shakti Gauchan provided first breakthrough for Nepal by taking the wicket of opener Abhinav Passi at first ball of sixth over. Seven balls later Paras bowled out Nitish Rana and DDCA came under immense pressure, which was continue until the end even though Nepali team was without premier spinner Basanta Regmi. For DDCA, Captain Kuldeep Raut made not
out 19 runs off 16 balls while Nipun Malhotra and Akarshit Gomil contributed 25 and 24 runs in the scoreboard respectively. Sagar Pun took a couple of wickets conceding only 14 runs and Amrit Bhattarai, Shakti Gauchan, Avinash Karn and Paras claimed a wicket each.

Nepal had a bitter start as opening batsman Subash Khakurel was out for a golden duck. Even so, Nepal did not have to toil hard to chase down the total which they surpassed two balls prior with five wickets still in hand. Binod Bhandari showed what he is capable of and finished the game by making 26 not out off 14 balls with three big sixes. Sharad Vesawkar also remains unbeaten as he scored a six in only ball he faced. Paras Khadka made another significant score for the team as he added 23 off 21. Pradeep Airee, Sagar Pun and Gyanendra Malla scored 26, 19 and 18 runs respectively.

Nepali team will take rest on tomorrow and will play against Railways team for the scheduled fourth friendly match on 25 October, Friday at Roshanara Club Ground, Delhi.
