Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) selected
final 15 players along with four reserve players for the upcoming ICC World
Twenty20 Cup 2014 to be held from 16 March 2014 at Bangladesh.
Paras Khadka and
Gyanendra Malla retained for captain and vice captain. The team includes Sharad Vesawkar, Sompal Kami, Prithu Banskota,
Shakti Gauchan, Basanta Regmi, Rahul BK, Naresh Budhayer, Subash Khakurel,
Sagar Pun, Binod Bhandari, Jitendra Mukhiya, Pradeep Airee and Avinash Karna.
Rahul BK who missed the 50 over World Cup
Qualifier due to his back injury returned to the team for the World Cup. Likewise,
Naresh Budhayer, who was expected to get place long time back, finally make in
to the final list. However, Mahesh Chhetri and Anil Mandal was kept in reserve along with Bhuwan Karki and Amrit Bhattarai.
Nepali is scheduled to play two warm up matches against Ireland and UAE on March 12 and 14. Nepal will play the first official match against Hong Kong on March 16. They will play against Bangladesh and Afghanistan on 18 and 20 March respectively.
