Asian
Cricket Council (ACC) made public the fixture of ACC Premier League 2014. Top six, non test playing Asian Nations will
play with each other at round robin league format that yields place for four
nations at the ACC Championship 2014, two days cricket tournament initiated by
the ACC from this year, to be held in UAE on December 2014.
Nepal
will battle at this renamed tournament with high level of confidence that they
gained from the recently concluded ICC World Twenty20 Cup, where Nepal won two
out of three matches. Nepal, along with UAE, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Hong Kong
and Oman will battle to earn the spot for ACC Championship. In last edition of
the same tournament, Nepal shared the trophy with UAE after ended the final game
with equal score.
Premier
League is a huge tournament for non test playing nations and even more
important for Nepal considering the fact that Nepal wants to improve 50 over
cricket aiming ODI status in near future. Players are taking rest now and will
start training immediately after Coach Pubudu Dassanayake's arrival in
Kathmandu.
Nepal
will face UAE in the first match of the tournament on May 1. Then after, they
will face Malaysia, Oman, Hong Kong and Afghanistan on 2, 4, 5 and 7 May
respectively. The game will be 50 overs a side matches. The team finishes top
of the point table after completion of the league matches crowned as winner.
