Players-CAN meeting prove nothing

Just Nepali Cricket/April 15

Talks between CAN authorities and cricketers regarding the demands put forth by the players concluded without reaching a logical conclusion as CAN tried to convince the players by paying their salaries only. CAN has already promised to provide the players with the salaries and allowances due to them and even agreed to distribute 50 thousand dollars out of $250000 that CAN was entitled to for having participated in the T20 World Cup.

Chatur Bahadur Chand, Vice-chairman of CAN and the coordinator of the talk team said that they could not reach a conclusion after players demanded the liquidation of the existing Working Committee of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

Paras Khadka, skipper of Nepali cricket team, is committed to continue the protest until their demands are addressed. He said, 'Pay cheque is not our prime demand. We want the good system that works with dedication for the development of cricket, so we will continue our protest until our demands are met'. CAN and the players will sit for the talks again at 3:30 PM tomorrow

Earlier, 16 members Nepali World Twenty20 Cup squad had opted not to take part in the national league and International tournaments until the current Executive Committee of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) got dissolved.
