Nepal and Hong Kong qualified automatically in the ICC WorldTwenty20 Qualifier to be held in Ireland next year for their T20 Status, which remains for at least 2 years. Earlier, non Test-playing Asian nations have to reach at least the top 3 spots via ACC Twenty20 Cup. It means Nepal along with Afghanistan, Hong Kong, and UAE are already qualifier for the ICC WorldTwenty20 Qualifier and the tournament will decide the World T20 Cup participants. Top six teams from that 16 teams event will play the World T20 Cup.
