Nepal register enormous wins over Singapore with help of record setting partnership of 135 runs between opener duo Anil Mandal and Mahesh Chhetri. Both misses ton but ease the path for semifinal. The previous best partnership for all wickets was between Paras Khadka and Sharad Vesawkar. Paras and Vesawkar had put on 130-run for the fourth wicket against Fiji during the ICC World Cricket League Division-V in Kathmandu.
Batting first, Singapore manage the good total of 216 runs in 49 overs but fail to defend as Nepal achieve the total in 43.2 overs losing 3 wickets. Philip Childs top score 40 off 51 delivery included 3 hits to fence. Buddhika Mendis, Chetan Suryabanshi, Munish Arora, Saad Januja and Dharmichand Mulema contributed 36, 32, 31, 29 and 17 runs respectively. Shakti Gauchan took 2 wickets for Nepal. Rahul BK, Basanta Regmi and Sanjam Regmi shared one wicket each. Nepali fielders effects 5 run out with their brilliant fielding.
Besides Anil (83) and Mahesh (87), Paras Khadka scored 8 runs. Sharad Vesawkar and Dipendra Chaudhary remain unbeaten in 18 and 9 runs. Mahesh Chhetri declared Man of Match for his big score. Nepal will face Kuwait in the last league match on April 6.
