Nepal registered huge 101 runs win over Kuwait at the ACC U-16 Elite Cup in Tribhuvan University Stadium cricket ground. Left arm spinner Nischal Pandey grabbed 5 wickets conceding just 15 runs
and scored superior 58 runs help Nepal to reach in significant position after 2nd consecutive win at the tournament. Put into bat first by Kuwait, the home team made a concrete start with openers Sharad Khadka and Nischal putting on 70 runs. Sharad was out on 33, stumped by wicketkeeper Zakaria Ali off Naser Rashi in the 16th over. The host lost Dipendra Chand (12), skipper Switchan Shah (0), Sanam Shrestha (8) and Sushan Bhari Shrestha (1) cheaply but Satish Bhagat strengthen the Nepali innings with an unbeaten 29. Nepal's innings ended when Rajiv Chaudhary (9) was run out attempting three runs in the last ball of the 40th over. Naser Rashid and Ali Zaheer took three wickets each while Abdul Jabar took two for Kuwait.
In second inning, Kuwait made good start of 37 runs in 8.1 overs. Loosing first wicket in 37, Kuwait never recovered and threw their all wickets in 82 runs in 25 overs. Ali Zaheer top scored 27 for Kuwait and Zakaria (20) and Naseer Rashid (12) are other major contributor. In bowling, Bibek Chaudhary got 3 wickets. Sushan Bhari and Rajiv Shah shared 1 wicket each.
Nischal Pandey rewarded man of the match trophy for his brilliant performance.
At the Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya grounds, Hong Kong eased to a 113-run win over Bahrain. After, Hong Kong made a massive 211-9 in 40 overs. Bahrain were all out for 98 runs in 27 overs. In Group A match at the Pulchowk Engineering College grounds, Saudi Arabia defeated Thailand by 159 runs. Saudi Arabia were dismissed for 233 in 36.5 overs and restricted Thailand for 74 in 20.4 overs.
