Region-I (Biratnagar) register slight 4 runs succeed over Region-3 (Kathmandu) at the Pepsi Twenty20 National League Cricket Tournament in Pulchowk Engineering College Ground, Lalitpur. Put into bat first, Biratnagar scored 113-7 and restricted Kathmandu for 109-9 in 20 overs.
For Biratnagar, Ajay Rajbanshi top scored 38 balls 32 with four hit to fence. Pushpa Thapa, Manjeet Shrestha and Mehboob Alam scored 29, 14 and 10 runs repectively. Paras Khadka, Sunam Gautam and Dipendra Chaudhary took 2 wickets for Kathmandu. Rupesh Shrivastav grab 1 wicket. In reply, patient inning of skipper Paras Khadka of 31balls 31 can’t avoid loss against Biratnagar. Sunam Gautam, Gyanendra Malla and Rikesh Lama scored 21, 18 and 13 runs respectively. Manjeet Shrestha, skipper of Biratnagar declared Man of the Match for his all round performance.
In another match at same day, Birgunj record 4 wickets victory over Nepalgunj in the tournament. Nepalgunj scored 81 runs in loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 over and Birgunj surpasses the target in 17.5 over losing 6 wickets. For Nepalgunj, Sandeep Shrestha, Rupesh Sharma, Anupam Singh and Tajuddin Halwai scored 15, 13, 12 and 10 runs respectively. Raj Mohammad, Biond Das, Rahul Pratap Singh and Sanjam Regmi shared 2 wickets each and Amit Jha took single wicket.
Binod Das scored quickie unbeaten 32 of just 22 balls with 4 huge sixes and a four during the run chase supported by Sanjam Regmi (14) and Suraj Patel (10). Nirmal KC and Sandeep Shrestha took 2 wickets each and Sahid Riza grab 1 wicket for Nepalgunj.
