Biratnagar register the comprehensive 9 wickets victory over Nepalgunj at the inaugural match of Pepsi Twenty20 National League Cricket tournaments at the Pulchowk Engineering College grounds, Lalitpur. Batting first, Nepalgunj could only assemble 72-9.
Mahesh Chhetri, the wicket keeper batsman of National Cricket team top scored 38 runs in 62 balls. Other batsmen fail to score in double digit. Mehboob Alam and Manjeet Shrestha shared 2 wickets each. Ajay Banshi, Kundan Singh and Pushpa Thapa took 1 wicket apiece.
In reply, Biratnagar manage easy victory in 12.1 overs. Lone wicket fell was the explosive opening batsman Mehboob Alam in 6 runs. Sunny Pun and Pushpa Thapa shared 69 runs of partnership to register easy victory. Sunny scored 35 runs and Man of the match Pushpa scored 29 runs. Navin Shahi took the lone wicket took by Nepalgunj.
In another match, Region No 3 Kathmandu dominates Region No 2 Birgunj by 62 runs at the second match of Pepsi Twenty20 National League Cricket tournaments at the Pulchowk Engineering College grounds, Lalitpur. Electing to bat first, Kathmandu scored colossal 194 losses of 5 wickets. Player of the match Dipendra Chaudhary top scored 68 runs in 45 balls with 5 sixes and 2 fours. Skipper Paras Khadka scored quickfire 47 runs in just 21 balls with 9 fours and 1 sixes. Paresh Lohani and Sanjay Shrestha are other major contributor with 32 runs and 28 runs repectively. Binod Das, Sanjam Regmi, Raj Mohammad and Yasin Hawari shared 1 wicket apiece of Region No 2.
In reply, Birgunj team restricted in mere 132-6 with tough bowling and fielding by Kathmandu. Dipendra Shah scored 47 runs in 41 ball with 3 big sixes. Mohammad Hasim 33 in 30 balls and Binod Das 27 in 25 balls are other major contributor. Pramod Basnet and Sunam Gautam shared 2 wickets each for Kathmandu. Girish Sharma grabs one wicket.
