Just Nepali Cricket/January 13
A very
disappointing match by Nepali team as they lost it by 102 runs against the UAE.
There is no doubt that the UAE are very good side, but we should show more
fight with them. Nepal didn't bowl well in the beginning, particularly pacers
seemed completely disappointing. UAE's pacers used the condition nicely and
kept Nepali batsmen under pressure from the beginning but Nepal's pacers turned out to be very expensive
and not threatening at all.
Shakti Gauchan and Basanta Regmi tried to control
UAE with their discipline bowling however that was not enough as UAE kept
wicket and punished Nepali bowlers again at death overs. Credit goes to UAE's
batsmen as well, mainly Shaiman Anwar. He is premier player and showed his
class as how good he was and scored a century. In the second inning, Nepal
witnessed horrible start as Anil Mandal had to go back to pavilion for golden
duck out. Mahesh Chhetri once again let down the team with his batting. Sagar
tried to play good cricket but he was unable to convert the good start he got
in to the big one. Binod continued his good form and showed some aggression but
one mishit caused him out. Sharad and Shakti showed cool, calm and collected
nature while batting by playing sensible cricket but it was already late.
In the end, Nepal lost the first game but from here
Nepal can't afford another loss therefore they have to win all the remaining
matches to keep the hopes of the World Cup alive. Nepal will now meet Scotland
in the next match on January 16, where they need to show the hunger of success.
Nevertheless, it is a cricket game and one has to lose, today Nepal accepted
the defeat. Hope Nepal will come back strongly in remaining matches.
