CAN declares Women's squad for ACC Tournament, century makers in reserve list

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) selected final 14 players along with four reserve players for the upcoming ACC Women's Premier Trophy to be held from 9 to 19 February 2014 at Thailand.


Rubina Chhetri will lead the team whereas Mamata Thapa selected as her deputy. The team includes Trishna Singh, Karuna Bhandari, Kajal Shrestha, Mamata Chaudhary, Sobha Ale, Rekha Rawal, Sonu Khadka, Sita Rana Magar, Neera Rajopadhyaya, Sarita Magar, Kabita Gautam and Saraswoti Chaudhary.

The players selected in the basis of their performance at the close camp arranged by CAN. However, two players who made century in recently concluded Senior National Women's Cricket Tournament, Jyoti Pandey of APF and Anjali Chand of Region no 6 Baitadi has not been selected for final 14. They were kept in reserve list along with Rashmi Sharma and Janaki Bhatta. Earlier Indu Berma pulled out her name showing the reason of SLC examination and Nary Thapa was ruled out due to the injury.

Nepali will play the first match against Iran on February 11. They will play against Thailand, Bhutan, China and Hong Kong on February 13, 14, 16 and 17 respectively in league round match. The match will be 40 overs a side.
