18 members squad announces by CAN

Arif, Ram Naresh and Puspa breaks into senior team, Alam, Pradhan, Yagya Man and Bhuwan returns

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) selected 18 players at the first round close camp for the upcoming ACC Premier League to be held from in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

All rounder Aarif Sheikh (Man of the Series in National League Cricket), bowler Ram Naresh Giri of Birgunj and Batsman Puspa Thapa (Best batsman of National Cricket League) of Biratnagar found space at the national team for the first time. Both the youngster represented Nepal in the U-19 level cricket. Likewise, senior players Raj Kumar Pradhan (Best bowler of National Cricket League) and Mehboob Alam along with youngster Bhuwan Karki and Yagya Man returned in the team after their impressive performance in the National Cricket League.

Regular skipper Paras Khadka retained his position and Gyanendra Malla remained deputy. Other players are, Sharad Vesawkar, Sompal Kami, Subash Khakurel, Shakti Gauchan, Basant Regmi, Sagar Pun, Binod Bhandari, Naresh Budhayer, and Amrit Bhattarai. However, the World Cup playing members Anil Mandal, Pradeep Airee, Jitendra Mukhiya, Avinash Karna and Rahul BK were axed from the team.

Nepali is scheduled to play first match against UAE on May 1. Then after, they will play against Malaysia, Oman, Hong Kong and Afghanistan on 2, 4, 5 and 7 May respectively.
