Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN)
announced 15-member squad for the ICC World T20 Qualifier scheduled for UAE
from November 10, 2013. Paras Khadka retained the captaincy and Gyanendra Malla
selected as deputy.
Other players in the lineup include, Shakti Gauchan,
Basanta Regmi, Sharad Vesawkar, Pradeep Airee, Anil Mandal, Mahesh Chhetri,
Rahul BK, Binod Bhandari, Amrit Bhattarai, Avinash Karna, Jitendra Mukhiya,
Subash Khakurel and Sagar Pun.While Naresh Budhayer, Ram Naresh Giri, Chandra
Sawad and Bhuwan Karki named as reserve. Pacer Jitendra broke into national
squad for ACC/ICC Event as he
once selected for friendly matches in Sri Lanka along with Mahesh at last moment. He and Avinash won a sturdy selection battle ahead of regular member Chandra Sawad. At the same time, Mahesh Chhetri able to make comeback as he had impressed coach and selection committee by his fine performance in the National T20 Cricket Tournament recently, where he scored three fifty in five matches. Off spinner Sanjam Regmi, who was left out for ACC Emerging Teams Cup 2013, again not picked for this shorter version.

Nepal is in Group B along with Afghanistan, Bermuda,
