Nepal crushes Denmark by five wickets

Nepal defeated Denmark by five wickets by the brilliant knock of skipper Paras Khadka, who made 48 runs at the first match of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2013, in Dubai, UAE.

Denmark decided to bat first after winning the toss and made only 79 runs in 19.4 overs losing all wickets. Off spin bowler, Sagar Pun is main slayer as he took last three wickets conceding just 12 runs in three overs.  Hamid Shah top scored with 18 runs for Dennis team. Similarly, Yasir Ikbal and Michael Pedersan contributed 17 and 15 runs respectively. Apart from Sagar, Jitendra Mukhiya and Basanta Regmi two wickets each and Paras got a wicket.

 It was not easy chase for Nepal as they lost Pradeep Airee and Gyanendra Malla when team's score was naught in first over of the second inning. However, Skipper Khadka (48) and opener Subash Khakurel (17) shared 67 runs partnership between them to rescue the team before trapped into the big trouble. Parash got out in 11th over just two runs short of brilliant half century. Four balls later, Binod Bhadari followed him as he tried to hit the ball out of the ground and Subash was next man out at next ball, but Nepal already reached close to the target. Sharad Vesawkar (05*) and Sagar Pun (02*) took Nepal safe home by completing the chase of 80 runs target in 13.1 overs.
Kamran Mahamood of Denmark took two wickets whereas Yasir Ikbal, Basir Shah and Aftab Ahemad took a wicket each.
Nepal's Paras Khadka awarded man of the match trophy for his contribution in both departments batting and bowling.
