Final 15 announces by CAN, Naresh and Rahul returns

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) selected final 15 players along with four reserve players for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 Cup 2014 to be held from 16 March 2014 at Bangladesh.

Paras Khadka and Gyanendra Malla retained for captain and vice captain. The team includes Sharad Vesawkar, Sompal Kami, Prithu Banskota, Shakti Gauchan, Basanta Regmi, Rahul BK, Naresh Budhayer, Subash Khakurel, Sagar Pun, Binod Bhandari, Jitendra Mukhiya, Pradeep Airee and Avinash Karna.

Rahul BK who missed the 50 over World Cup Qualifier due to his back injury returned to the team for the World Cup. Likewise, Naresh Budhayer, who was expected to get place long time back, finally make in to the final list. However, Mahesh Chhetri and Anil Mandal was kept in reserve along with Bhuwan Karki and Amrit Bhattarai.

Nepali is scheduled to play two warm up matches against Ireland and UAE on March 12 and 14. Nepal will play the first official match against Hong Kong on March 16. They will play against Bangladesh and Afghanistan on 18 and 20 March respectively.

Indu Berma pulls out from national team, Nary ruled out

Women cricketer Indu Berma, who has been selected for the upcoming ACC Women's Premier Trophy to be held in Thailand from 9-19 February, withdrew her name from the squad. According to a CAN related source, she is preparing for the SLC examination, and choose education in front of the game.
Berma is a regular and youngest member of the team, who represented Region no 4 Bhairahawa in the national league. In 2010, she was part of the team at the age of 13 years. Since then, she is regular member of the U19 and national women team. 
Earlier, Nary Thapa who scored first century in Senior Women's National Cricket Tournament was ruled out due to the Metatarsal bone fracture. The injury will take her out for more than a month.

U19 team's coach Jung Bahadur Thapa along with 13 players returning Nepal today from UAE after completing thejourney of the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2014. CAN related source told Just Nepali Cricket that Skipper Bhuwan Karki and his deputy Ram Naresh Giri along with Physio Shreel Bhagat will return tomorrow.

Nepal U19 team manage to win over UAE U19 at the last match in the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2014. Nepali players proved their talent in this contest by fighting with Test nations India and Pakistan. Nepali U19 cricket team will face Pakistan u19 tomorrow at 11:45 AM NST, at the first day of the ACC U19 Asia Cup in ICC GCA1, Dubai. Pakistan team is having very good combination of pace and spin attack and their top order batsmen are very strong led by Captain Sami Aslam. However, Nepal is not so weedy like they were in the ACC U-19 Elite Cup, where they finished fourth. 

The team is more strong with the batsmen like Amit Shrestha, Bibhatsu Thapa and Prem Tamang, who were very capable of good batting while addition of Sunil Dhamala, Prakash Bista and Siddhant Lohani added more strength.

Nepal is gearing up for the second edition of the U19 Asia Cup 2014 to be held in UAE from 28 December 2013 to 4 January 2014. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) constructed the U19 Asia Cup to offer a fair prospect to youth of the associates' nation to play competitive cricket and it has been great success so far. Four test playing nation along with four associate countries will participate in this tournament.
